Mike Frisina is the Director of Policy for Canada at SWTCH Energy. He is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in the EV charging industry. Previously holding positions at ChargePoint and Alectra Utilities and as well as serving as an advisor to the President of the Treasury Board, Mike brings extensive experience in EV charging policy, encompassing utility engagement, regulatory affairs, and program design. He is also well-versed in Ontario's electricity policy landscape.
Key contributions include work on significant projects such as the Electric Vehicle Charging Connections Process (EVCCP), Ontario’s proposed Discount Demand Charge rate, Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR), and aspects of Quebec's Charging Strategy, including advocacy for EV-ready building codes in multi-unit residential buildings.
Holding a master’s degree in political science from McMaster University, Mike is deeply passionate about transportation electrification and the broader cleantech sector, committed to driving sustainable energy solutions forward in Canada.
