Laura recently joined Sussex Strategy Group as a Director with the firm's federal team in Ottawa, where she provides clients with insight and practical guidance in navigating federal policy and regulatory processes, building strategic relationships across government, and advancing priorities in energy, mining, and natural resources.

Prior to joining Sussex, Laura served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Canada, advising on national energy policy, major projects, clean technology, mining, and industrial development, while working closely with the Prime Minister's Office and federal departments. She previously held senior roles in ministerial offices at Environment and Climate Change Canada and Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, as well as Senior Advisor, Parliamentary Affairs to the Honourable Catherine McKenna.

Laura played a key role in advancing major legislation, including the Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act and the Sustainable Jobs Act, and helped shape regulatory frameworks for offshore renewable energy and resource development. She led ministerial engagement strategies with provincial, territorial, Indigenous, and industry stakeholders, and supported strategic engagement at COP, the International Energy Agency, and G7 summits.

Laura is a graduate of Carleton University's College of the Humanities, as well as the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. In her spare time, she is an avid oil painter and aspiring chef.
