Tyson Dyck is a partner at Torys LLP, leads the firm’s Climate Change Practice, co-leads the firm’s Sustainability Practice and is ranked by Chambers and Partners as a Global Market Leader in Climate Change law.

Tyson advises some of North America’s largest companies on their climate transition plans. This work includes advising on major carbon management initiatives, including on the development of commercial-scale CCS, direct air capture and carbon dioxide removal projects.

He also has decades of experience helping clients navigate the carbon and clean fuels markets, and regularly advises on trading and compliance strategies, spot and forward transactions in the voluntary and compliance markets, and long-term offtakes for carbon removal and avoidance projects. He has negotiated transactions in every major North American compliance market, and under every major voluntary standard.

He also regularly advises on high-stakes, reputationally sensitive sustainability issues for major financial institutions, pension plans and asset managers as they navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Tyson’s work builds on his extensive experience supporting the development, permitting and financing of over 50 major energy transition projects across North America.
